Your fungus has soaked up a lot of water but could be Tremella steidleri, which isn’t common but does like oak. I’ve seen it on oak in Devon. It parasitizes Stereum species which should be visible on the same bit of wood. Exidia candida (var. cartilaginea) is also similar, but prefers birch. I’ve seen it in Scandinavia, but as far as I’m aware it’s not known from the UK. Need a microscope for a definitive answer, I’m afraid.
