      Many thanks Leif, Chris and Paul – wish I’d collected it but we were looking at lichens on chalk and like an eejit I just took a couple of photos!

      Thanks Paul for the spore tip – and it was pure synchronicity coming home with the Tubuefina just after Mark had posted his description and details! Laetisaria lichenicola seems to be pretty widespread (seasonal?) as I’ve found it most places where I’ve checked Physcia tenella in the last couple of weeks.

            Corticifraga fuckelii is lichenicolous on Peltigera’s, but with whitish to orange-brown apothecia rather than orange and only 0.2-0.5mm diam.

            Illosporiopsis is pink rather than orange, and like Marchandiomyces not known on Peltigera’s – but there are plenty of others that are and if you can get a look at the spores that would help

              Once again many thanks Chris – it was an unexpected bonus while crawling round the edge of a small area of saltmarsh looking for something else!

                Many thanks for the correction and identification Chris – I just grabbed a couple of photographs while searching for leaf miners but didn’t collect a leaf for closer examination

                  Probably Baeomyces rufus, though Dibaeis baeomyces can appear very similar and to be 100% certain you need to test the KoH reaction: http://www.irishlichens.ie/pages-lichen/l-70.html

                    Thanks for the extra image – probably Xanthoparmelia pulla and yes, Sedum anglicum for the succulent red leaves

                      Hi Adam – white one = Ochrolechia parella, yellow = Xanthoria parietina.

                      Details not clear enough on the brown one but its either Xanthoparmelia pulla, X. loxodes or Melanelixia fuliginosa

                          Hi Brian, first is Xanthoria parietina, second looks isidiate so X. calcicola, the last with very narrow lobes probably x. elegans. Sorry, but its not really possible to make out the details in the other photos.

                                Hi Mike, apologies for going slightly off-topic but was your Minicam from Brunel as I got one from them a couple months and have pretty much given up with it because of the same problem?
