I’ve found similar on neighbour’s lawn which I think is a Parasola but I might be wrong. I will try and post photos but maybe too large files and I’m not at all sure how to make them smaller! I don’t do microscopy so difficult to be sure of id.

As a ‘registered technophobe’ I will probably have difficulty using it to start with!

Your knowledge of Inkcaps (now called Coprioid fungi according to Kew) is far in advance of mine!
Without microscopy a difficult area.

Coprinopsis patouillardii occurs on ‘strawy dung, compost, straw and domestic waste and is occasional or seldom recorded’ according to Buczacki et al 2012
I maybe completely wrong though – ‘the more I know the more I realise I don’t know’!
This is a very interesting publication – many thanks for giving me a copy.
I will have to try to get a copy of the Dutch book – looks like it will be very useful. Also the Henderson books.
I found Puccinia sessilis on Arum maculatum yesterday – not very species specific and very common I think.
Oh dear any tablets for Rust bugs OCD?

Excellent talk! I think I have the Rust bug but not sure how far I will get. My botanical knowledge is not very good!
Saturday was a very good event with lots of people to talk to. Hopefully it can be repeated so the Welsh mycology community can exchange ideas and knowledge.
I had a very good time in the week with the ‘Kew Crew’ and have not been put off Rusts despite 5 and a half hours on Whiteford Dunes looking for the elusive Chrysomxa pyrolata. Having turned over several hundred leaves of the host plant I now know what to look for! As Martyn said ‘it was a successful day’.
Thanks for info re Gooseberries – there are also other Ribes species in Brynna Woods so I will keep an eye on those as well. I think my walks in the Woods will be quite slow events.

Ellis and Ellis Microfungi on Land Plants
Henderson Checklist of Rust Fungi
Henderson Guide to ID by Host Plant
The latter 2 are available as downloads on Gareth Griffith’s waxcap website I think.
Also the Rust Fungus Red Data List and Census Catalogue for Wales that was available on Saturday seems a good read!
I find it useful on x10 because I can capture photos easily on my laptop. It has x60 and x200 but latter is difficult to get good images – maybe due to me!
