      Hi, am i correct in thinking these are Cladonia rangiferina? Found on wasteland in Essex. They are plentiful in this spot but not something I’ve noticed anywhere else on my travels.

      How old would you say this one is and is it rare?

        Probably Cladonia rangiformis. Cladonia rangiferina is mainly a lichen of upland Scotland. It would be helpful if you could give the locality more accurately plese as the site could be worth a visit. Brownfield sites are disappearing rapidly in Essex.
