Hello. Came across someone today who uses Birch polypore powdered in food as an oestrogen inhibitor and also as an anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer. Has anyone any corrobatory or otherwise comments. Curious, but not tempted!

    Hello Deborah

See: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5380686/” class=”bbcode_url”>https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5380686/ but just taking it in powdered form seems very hit-and-miss. How much / little should one take? Is the content of the potentially valuable metabolites evenly spread across the whole population of the fungus? etc. etc.

Thank you. I knew Birch Polypore as Razor strop fungus and also as a fire starting tinder. Came across it by chance, saw someone online who was talking about powdering it up and adding to food… Not something I would think of doing. And I still don’t think I would – even with the health benefits!
