Photographed this today amongst beech and pine. I didn’t lift it out of the ground. Thought initially that it was on top of leaves but it felt firmly attached to something (wood?) Any ideas/comments welcome.

      Hi,

I suppose it has the potential (without microscopy) to be any one of several species,

but it does have the general looks of Postia ptychogaster.

      See: – https://www.fungi.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=14&start=780#p11704

      Regards,

      Mike.
