These are growing on compost at the bottom of my garden. I’m pretty sure they are in the Agaricus family (?) I noted the immediate yellowing at the base, but the cap markings and lack of any distinctive smell didn’t suggest the Yellow Stainer. The ring is very chunky and not at all fragile. I’m in Central Brittany (probably irrelevant). Any help will be very welcome. Hello, this is Agaricus phaeolepidotus, another member of the Xanthodermatei, say the “yellow stainer family”
