Teifi Marshes – Crust species?

    Found in dense, wet woodland. Lots of Oak in the woodland, but not sure if the trunk belongs to an Oak or another tree.

    Without recourse to microscopy difficult to ID with any certainty. Initial impressions are of one of the Stereum species. The trunk appears to be that of a conifer from image posted. If so Stereum sanguinolentum most obvious candidate. When damaged/scratched Stereum sanguinolentum will exude red juice if in hydrated state.
