      Came across this specimen on a Hawthorn tree with the branches absolutely festooned with R.farinacea & Evernia prunastri along with some R.fastigata & Usnea subfloridana. It caught my eye as being different and on-site could not be sure if was R.farinacea or R.fastigata. Having examined it more closely at home there is no soralia whatsoever just apothecia. Therefore logic says R.fastigata but I have not to seen it looking quite like this before. Could I have a view from the Forum.

        Could it be very poorly developed Ramalina calicaris? Which would be poorly develped in central England, but not convinced however.
