Peltigera Accounts BLS Website & Wessex Lichen Group Meeting

A work in progress, I will add more pictures of dry versions of some of the common species after it stops raining for more than a few days. There are likely still typos, so do tell me if you spot any.

Not entirely sure why I did this; I have never quite been gripped by these species, unlike, say Cladonia. I just had some useful pictures of the undersides of some species I thought I ought to put up. Then I thought well why not finish the genus. In the process I actually learned a lot and have got a bit more gripped by them.

Happy to have good pictures of Peltigera species to add to the site. Undersides where not shown on the website especially welcome, e.g. Peltigera britannica and Peltigera leucophlebia, also damp Peltigera malacea.

A Wessex Lichen Group Meeting to Pinnick Wood, New Forest 30th December

The annual New Forest New Year meeting, all welcome. The meeting will be to Pinnick Wood, a very rich Sessile Oak – Holly pasture woodland in the New Forest with the possibility of reaching a fertile Cladonia peziziformis colony in Buckherd Bottom, if we get that far.

Details:

Pinnick Wood, New Forest 30th December, meet at 10.30am at the Linford Bottom Car Park at SU181072. Bring a packed lunch and stout footwear needed, aiming to finish by 3.30pm. Please email Neil Sanderson at neilsand1@mac.com if you intend to come; the meeting may be canceled if the weather is bad.
