      Saw this yesterday on what I think is fallen Beech. I ruled out Inonotus hispidus because it wasn’t on Ash, and the spores are too small. I’m thinking I. cuticularis, although the spores again seem a bit short. My outside candidate would be Phaeolus schweinitzii, although not apparently a mazegill and not on conifer. Thanks in advance.
