I’m coming across more Arthonia’s from SW Ireland that don’t entirely make sense, but perhaps I’ve been looking at them for too long!

Below are both from the same small Holly twig and both had 3-4 septate spores with upper cell enlarged.

    1. I initially wondered possibly Arthonia ilicinella but the epithecium wasn’t red-brown?

Very thin thallus (possibly with brownish prothallus) with irregularly rounded apothecia. In section K+ green, spores 3-4 septate, (15-)17-20 x (6-)7-9 µm, upper cell enlarged

Q2. Pale greyish-brown thallus, irregularly shaped apothecia, not pruinose and without surrounding bark cells. In section K+green, spores 3-4 septate, 13-17x 5-7 µm, upper cell enlarged

      Are these potentailly parasiting something?

Anyway, best post these as well for when I am back!

Thanks Neil, but no, as far as I could see they weren’t lichenicolous and are now in the post with the others
