      I was looking at some Scutellinia hairs under the scope and hadn’t got rid of the air bubbles very well

      When I moved up the magnification it came out like this

      Not really of any great importance but I just thought it was a fascinating photo.

        Not what I would expect them to look like at all! How do you get rid of the air bubbles?

          Most of the time it doesn’t matter as you can see all you need even with bubbles present. It can depend on the mounting fluid you are using if just water a drop of washing up liquid in the mix helps also and lowering the cover-slip carefully with a pin or the like can help. Finally heating gently over a light bulb or candle will usually remove stubborn bubbles.

          They can on some occasions help with getting the right focus point.
