      Does this jump out at anyone? I’m stumped and never get anywhere withthe FN master keys.

      Growing in oak / beech woods in Pembrokeshire.

      Diameter 55mm. Smell slightly antiseptic.

      Gills slightly decurrent

      I’m thinking Gymnopilus sp?

      Was towards end of foray and were rushing a bit.

        Can’t help Adam, no trees to speak of here. It does have the look of a Cortinarius though.

          I’d be thinking Cortinarius too – and walking swiftly on. With that often extremely difficult genus you always need some young specimens at the very minimum.
