Lichenomphalia umbellifera

    Lichenomphalia umbellifera – aren’t they always a problem with hudsoniana – especialy when you cant find the thallus……..

    I am inclined to Lichenomphalia umbellifera from colouration and mossiness, but don’t think its possible to nail it……hey ho………..any thoughts out there?

    Galloway, high level edge of peat boggy area, Cairnsmore of Fleet foothills.

    You’re right, you need to see the thallus – and bear in mind there are non-lichenised agarics that can be similar:

    Thanks Jenny, good call, yes, I’ve spotted a few Arrhenia – it doesn’t make life easy does it!!!!!
