Came across some photos of lichens in periodically water-filled depressions in a limestone pavement in the Burren Co. Clare, taken in June 2016 (but no specimens collected).

    1. I think they are Lempholemma and if so (using the LGBI3 key) perhaps L. radiatum, photos immediately below, as some of the developing lobes appear channeled?

    2. Another possible Lempholemma, in the top half of photo

As I’ve never come across any Lempholemma spp. before any comments or alternative suggestions appreciated!

    Hi Jenny:

Definitely not L. radiatum, which has spreading, elongate lobes. Perhaps L botryosum, but I don’t know Lichinales at all well.

    Hi Alan,

Thank you, that looks a much better possibility
