I’ve found these LBMs in exactly the same spot two years in a row, a few metres from a patch of St George’s Mushrooms, and wondered if anyone recognised them?
I’m thinking perhaps Hebeloma sp. but am really not sure and have included some observations below.
Location: field verge, in grass beside a mixed hedge, growing in a small group in a 2 metre square area
Cap: 58mm, smooth, buff-coloured, convex to flat with a slight umbo, faint radial striations.
Margin: Uplifted on older specimens, showing a dark line around the edge of the cap
Gills: Close, light buff colour, darkening with age, adnexed
Spore print: buff
Stem: 77mm x 7mm, central, cream-coloured, no ring, hollow, slightly bulbous base with a fine white down
Odour: faintly mushroomy!
