      I found these growing low-down on dead wood on 29th March in woodland. They were growing fairly close to each other. I couldn’t get closer to them or look under them as the area was covered in brambles. I think they may be 2 different species – Golden needle mushroom and Sheathed woodtuft. Would be grateful for an opinion. Thanks.

        I think I can see some whitish veil remnants around the edge of the caps in your first two photos, which suggests (given the time of year) Tubaria conspersa felted twiglet, a common species from late autumn to spring. The second two photos could well be Kuehneromyces mutabilis sheathed woodtuft – but these are just best guesses, given they are photographed from above.
