I have what I think is some form of fungal attack on a Liverwort which I have found in the past few weeks in three different Woods in my area.

The photographs from my last find are attached and were taken on a hazel branch and show Forked veilwort (Metzgeria furcata) interlaced with I believe Dilated Scalewort (Frullania dilatata). The Forked Veilwort as the other locations is turning grey/white under some form of parasitic fungal attack with the Dilated Scalewort appearing unaffected although I may be wrong about that.

My own research so far found the website Bryophilious.co.uk which lists three possible causers on the Forked Veilwort with just maybe Ebibryon hepaticicola the source but not having a microscope cannot go any further than just pure speculation.

I would appreciate any thoughts/suggestions you could give on my findings so far.
