      I noticed what looks like a white fungal growth on the compost, and then the plant died back (it was a bit neglected..). After some TLC, the plant is doing better, but the white on the compost is still there. I have no idea where to start with this? Any suggestions?

        Hi Adam

        If it is white mycelium then you are unlikely to be able to identify it unless it produces a fruitbody. Another option you could consider is a build up of salts on the surface of the soil – that would be my guess from the photo.
