Came across this down here in Totnes yesterday. on rotten hazel log.

    I’m a bit clueless regarding crusts/resupinates.

at 50x mag it appears to have teeth?

Any ideas or do I need serious microscopy.?

      Hi,

Don’t take this as being a certainty, as I’m not very good with crusts either – but to me, this has the general look of Schizopora paradoxa – Split Crust.

Basidioradulum radula – Toothed Crust looks quite similar too, (but I think that one often has teeth more akin to Hedgehog Fungus).

I think microscopy would be needed to be anything like sure.

      Regards,

      Mike.

      Thanks

I’ll have a look at those and compare.

I had a look at the edges with a hand lens and there they look more like pores.

Pretty sure now it is Schizopora paradoxa.

      Thanks Mike
