Recent find when cutting and removing Braken in Brynna Wood’s NR WTSWW, Glamorgan. About 30 ‘eggs’ and fully developec in one area anda subsiquent find of 1 fully developed about 100m away. For Wales Aderyn only show 7 records but I understand that there are more records not yet appearing.

Possibly this is an ‘alien’ species originating from Australasia – 1st recorded from Tasmania. 1st record in Europe was from France in 1914 so possibly introduced by Anzac troops during 1st World War

Not sure why but some of my photos didn’t appear… I’ll try and add more – ‘egg’ and better fully developed

I’ll give up for the moment as extra photos still not showing :(

Definitely looks like C. archeri. What a great find and so interesting to know it is spreading.

Might be too immature, but will smell disgusting eventually.

Definitely C.archeri – my later photos showing ‘fingers’ didn’t load . Smell was ‘putrid’ but only obvious from some specimens. 30 + ‘eggs’ and fully developed in one area…
