PS – why are the shots of the spores so green?
I think it’s probably because I’m still mounting them in water.
I really want this identified if possible, boletes are my favourite type of fungus.
Are these spores? They seem huge

This is a Hebeloma but with one tatty specimen it really isn’t worth pursuing further.

Awwww…
I just came back from a two week holiday so I missed earlier fruit bodies, but I’ll try to see if any more pop up. What do I need to look for if I find new specimens??

15-20 mins after pressing my thumb to the pores:
[attachment=0]DSCN8238.jpg
30 mins after cutting the blue has increased a little bit, same for where I pressed my thumb.
No blue at all after lightly
Smudge of darkening immediately after pressing the stem as hard as I could
Blue is present where I pressed my thumbnail hard into the inside of the cap, but has not appeared where I have pressed on the inside of the cap.
What do I need to look at and how do I look at it?

..but please Jimmy, just put some of that spore dust under your scope. You couldn’t have an easier check to make!
I was on an entomology field trip, about 40 minutes away from me, and I didn’t take any home. That makes it quite a hard check for me!
Is the resin a distinctive feature of this species? In the second photo, some sap seems to have seeped through the cap.
If you all think it is Ganoderma resinaceum then I guess I’ll go with that! How uncommon is it exactly?
James
Although photos on Google do seem similar, if it needs microscopy then we shouldn’t rely on them!
Yes you need microscope to get to species!
Awww….
I didn’t take any home as I was on an entomology field trip – but I will remember next time!

But if not a fungus, or caused by an invertebrate, what could it be?
