Melanohalea exasperata

Here is Melanohalea exasperata from the top rail of a timber guard round an orchard tree planted some 15-20 years ago.

volcanoes - conical papillae with flattened tops and pale pseudocyphella at apex

c- medulla. Surface covered in volcano pimples with a pale crater.
Woohoo - mini dance of celebration. I haven’t seen it in yonks and this is only the sixth post-2000 record in Gloucestershire.
Is it still thought to be decreasing? Gloucestershire seems to pick up things coming up from the south so I was wondering if there might be a rebound (not that one record makes a pattern).
