Hello,
Am struggling with this one from Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset and hoping someone might be able to help. It's on a hard limestone vertical surface. I sectioned one of the little perithecia looking structures and got hundreds of 3-septate spores. No asci present so presumably a lichenicolous fungus?
Thanks,
Paul

Possibly the lichen is Lecanora campestris? Not that that appears to help!

Thanks Neil. May be of use in the future. I'll archive for now and hope further clues will come in the future.

Scrub that, just twigged, the conidiophores and the septate conidia reminded me of a Strigulaceae, then I remembered there is a Strigulaceae found on limestone in just your area: Swinscowia calcarea. It must be this, the conidia are very good match. See https://fungi.myspecies.info/all-fungi/ ... a-calcarea and https://britishlichensociety.org.uk/res ... a-calcarea. The map shows few records, so a good find
