I'm hoing I've finally come across a Dorset specimen of Lecanora chlarotera sens str. on a twig of a roadside Oak. Its a small thallus with a combination of darker, paler and bi-coloured apothecia and flanked on both sides by thalli of Lecanora hybocarpa.
And images below Lecanora hybocarpa (damp and dry apothecia) on LH side of L. chlarotera s.s

Yes looks just like what I am getting as Lecanora chlarotera s. str. in the New Forest area, including the whiter light coming off the crystals in polarised light.
