On the iNaturalist web site there has been a flurry of observations (involving over one person) of fungi on Ivy leaves. I was wondering if it if possible to separate the following:
Colletotrichum trichellum https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/381773 ... wse_photos (Mnay seem to have a yellow "halo" around the spot
Mycosphaerella hedericola https://www.bioimages.org.uk/html/Mycos ... ricola.htm
and
Boeremia (Phoma) hedericola https://www.naturespot.org.uk/species/b ... hedericola
As far as I can tell these are the spot formers on Ivy, although there may be more.
If so, can you tell me what the key macro features are for separating these three species.

Re: Ivy fungus
I don't think there are any reliable macro features that will separate these leaf spots. I always reach for my microscope.
