UK fungus Day Photography competition

Post by gary »

Entries for UK fungus Day photography competition open now.

It would be good to have more entries from younger people.
Encouraging them onto a mycological pathway!!

I won. :D :o

Just discovered that I've won the 2023 UK Fungus Day Photo Competition 18+ age group category with my photo of Green Earthtongue (Microglossum viride): -

Eagle-eyed viewers might spot that I had actually uploaded that same photo here on the UK Fungi website a few years ago: -

To say I was surprised at the win is something of an understatement! - This was the first time I had entered a photographic competition of any kind.
Note that I made a point of contacting the organisers prior to submitting my entry, to ask if there would be any problem in submitting a photo taken prior to 2023.
(They quickly got back to me confirming that there were no such restrictions).

Regards,
Mike.
