Slime mould (?) on dead conifer wood

I would appreciate any thoughts on this, found on 25 Dec on a dead conifer (Scot's pine) twig. I've tried to indicate the scale. Where there is no scale bar, the magnification is 2x the previous. So sm2 is 2xsm1 and sm5 is 2xsm4. Manybthanks for any guidance.
