Tomentella laterita
Tomentella laterita, collected Grass Wood, North Yorks, 22/10/22. Keyed out in Koljalg (1996). I often find attempts to determine Tomentella species frustrating with only a fraction seeming to key satisfactory. With vivid brick red colour this one considerably easier

Hi Andy

Sorry to have missed this. I couldn't agree more about one's Tomentella ID's often being unconvincing. Do you have a specimen by any chance? - I would be interested to so some photomicrography for the Fungi of Yorkshire I'm writing. To the best of my knowledge this would be an addition to the county list.

Best wishes
Chris
