(NOT) Pine forest fungi Scotland /galloway forest

Post by Nuttyscout »

This was in the galloway forest park in april this year.. I have absolutely no idea what it was! They were in tbe stoney track along the edge, and were pushing out some 6/8 inches tall! I thought rhey were some sort of asparagus given the pointy skirt and the stiff stems.. But the tip was more mushroom like! So vvv confused. It was in full pine forest region.. Very little of other types of trees in granite /acid soil. Any help to identify would be greatly appreciated. Bugging me for a week!

These are horsetails, an ancient plant that propagates using spores, a fern. Not fungi so moving to the plants subforum.
