I've been trying to find a database of plants with locations, similar to the frdbi or CATE, but can only find the NBN Gateway which I find impossible to use. The map of species, in this case Salix triandra shows two squares over Pembrokeshire, but when I click on list of sites, it returns organisations, like Wildlife Trusts etc, without telling you which one holds the records in question. I chose Watsonian vice county (Pembrokeshire) and downoaded an empty csv file. There has to be a better way!

You probably already know but possibly http://www.wwbic.org.uk/ can help? Not sure how available records are from them.

Yes, but it's a paid service, and each request involves filling a 4 page form. The frdbi is a lot easier

Also worth noting that David Harries with his Pembrokeshire Fungus Recording Network also has regular articles on rusts in his quarterly Newsletter. Adam has apparently re-jigged the website? so I don't know the correct link at present. Can you help me out please Adam?

maybe getting out of my depth with Rusts but Nigel is giving me excellent backup!

One Rust on Kew's 'Lost and Found List' is Chrysomayxa pyrolata on Pyrola spp. mainly P.rotundifolia ssp. maritima. It has recently been re-found on dunes near Southport. I've been looking on sand dunes in Glamorgan VC41 but no success so far. Only record at the moment in Wales is on dunes on Anglesey. However P.rotifundulia ssp. maritima is also found inland in VC41 on old colliery spoil heaps so if you have suitable locations with Pyrola maybe worth looking for?

Hi Mark,
Not wishing to take this thread away from Rusts Literature, but yes, the Chrysomyxa pyrolata (great find!), was found by MykoGolfer - one of the NWFG members, (who has recently registered as a member, here with UK Fungi).

Well done MycoGolfer!!! 10 stars from me and hopefully from Kew!! I have 3 sites locally to me with Pyrola rotundifolia ssp. maritima but yet to find the Rust but your find will keep me going - it's not a lost cause!
