Lichenicolous fungus on Aspicilia calcarea

Post by JennyS » Tue Jan 29, 2019 10:40 pm

I wondered if anyone might be familiar with this lichenicolous fungus found on Aspicilia calcarea at Portland, Dorset in March 2016?

Very small perithecia(?) along edges of areoles and under the microscope there appeared to be superficial strands of black hyphae (10 um wide) present. The spores were brown, 1-septate 7-8(10) x 5 µm with a thick wall.
The closest I managed was possibly Lichenostigma or Lichenogramma so comments or suggestions would be much appreciated!
