Re: Urocystis violae
Hi Chris, I came across a galled Viola odorata (Sweet Violet) leaf and was searching for images of Urocystis violae when the images on this post popped up! The fungus seems less developed on my specimen but the spore balls look very similar, and the sizes matched: g-216a2.jpg g-216a4.jpg g-216a6.jpg...

Thanks Chris - at least I was right that they're pedicels! Might you have contact details for Dr. Helfer?

Re: Puccinia chaerophyllii on Anthriscus sylvestris?
Thanks for the reply and suggestion Chris - there doesn't seem another possibility on this host so perhaps that's the explanation

Re: Tranzschelia discolor and T pruni-spinosae?
Hi Chris - great collection of images as always!
In your images the lower cells all appear verrucose despite the colour variation. I'd based my Tranzschelia discolor identification on the +/- smooth lower cell but is this not sufficient to separate them?

Tranzschelia discolor and T pruni-spinosae?
;) Sorry Chris! I think I have found both Tranzschelia discolor and T. pruni-spinosae on Prunus over the last month, images of both below, Tranzschelia discolor - teliospores with upper cell verrucose, lower cell smaller, paler and +/- smooth w-Tranzschelia-discolor-190923-024b-Prunus.jpg w-Tranzsch...

Re: Phragmidium tuberculatum not mucronatum?
Many thanks for the reply Chris and sorry for my delay but I didn't get a reply notification. I was using Bladmineerders but your link gives more information and apiculus length range for both - though I'm now wondering if both my specimens might have been P. tuberculatum ! Jury undecided, will have...

Phragmidium tuberculatum not mucronatum?
Having recorded Phragmidium mucronatum on Rosa canina agg I've been searching all the Rosa rugosa I've come across in the hope of finding Phragmidium tuberculatum and getting a better concept of the difference between the two.......... :? The micrographs are from R. rugosa and a high proportion of s...

On the side of an old hard-wood garden table, Dorset - are these Dacrymyces stillatus or D. chrysospermus?
