I thought it looked more like Lycogala (Wolf's milk) slime mould because of the shininess but then it does look as if it's been raining.

I agree with all that. The only absolutely certain way to determine the difference between chlorophana and ceracea is to look at the gill trama cells under the microscope. Ceracea are cells are much shorter and slightly branched (subregular) and Chlorophana long thin cells (like spaghetti) As to qui...

The last one definitely quieta ,that greying of the cap I've seen a lot.

I like the idea of the ending "no idea " being significant !
I for one had never noticed that but I imagine it's reasonably common in species names.
