Cobalt Crust Terana caerula

Cheating a little as I have been nurturing under a fern in my garden Glamorgan VC41. On fern stem and fencing off cut. This is well out of normal season but VC41 seems to be a hot spot for this....

Mal, There are a few sightings in England and 1 in Scotland being posted on BMS fb page but I don't know if people are recording their finds.

Cobalt Crust Terana caerulea (coerulea in a lot of databases) - 8 locations found in less than 2 hours Brynna Woods NR, Glamorgan. Out of 325 records on ADERYN (all Wales LERC) database about 80pct in Glamorgan VC41. Not sure if VC41 is really such a hot spot or because we have good dedicated record...

Hi, Not sure where your find but generally in England not common. In Scotland rarely seen. However Glamorgan VC41 seems to be frequent
3 locations within 300m of my garden last week and I'm sure a lot more that I didn't see on a brief walk!

Nice finds! After much hunting and smelling rotten Russulas I finally found A.parasitic 2 weeks ago

Not from today and not UK but interesting fungus Clathrus ruber in coastal Brittany. Known in France as Coeur de Sorcière, the Sorcerer's Heart ...a bit more prosaic than Red Cage :) Seems to occur in coastal locations southern England, Isle of Wight and Channel Islands. Only 1 record in Glamorgan V...
