Cladonia sp

I found this Cladonia taxon on a dead trunk of Pinus. I'm considering a Cladonia ramulosa morph (forma cladomorpha or forma phyllophora) but the yellow-orange K+ and yellow KC+ reaction poses a problem for me. Do you have any guidance to give me? Thanks in advance.

Re: Ramalina with medulla K+ pink-red

This brown-yellow reaction with KOH would be due to a yellow pigment: calycin, it is very variable and not all tests present it.

Re: Ramalina with medulla K+ pink-red

It is very difficult to give an opinion on a single specimen (especially if it was collected on the ground and has become unrecognizable) but I think like you that it is a taxon close to Ramalina pusilla with its reaction K+ red (but which varies from pink to red and reddish because there seem to be...

Re: Cladonia symphycarpa Can Not be Identified by Spot Tests

Thank you Neil for this information on this little-known species, thank you also for pointing out the freely available publication by Burgaz et al. on species of the genus Cladonia . This is a very good update on the species of the Cladonia genus, unfortunately very poorly illustrated by completely ...

Re: Hydropunctaria aractina/orae?

I do not think it is Hydropunctaria orae because this species which has a white prothallus has a very particular habitat (it requires fresh water) and its colors are also different (never brown). It is also not Hydropunctaria oceanica which has more blackish colors and more pointed perithecia. I do ...

Re: Dibaeis baeomyces -Schizidia and reactions

The colored reactions are sometimes difficult to assess in the field because they are very dependent on the state of the thallus (young or old, dry or humid, etc.) they are also sometimes slow and take time to appear, it is necessary so often have a little patience. Certainly not Ramalina siliquosa but perhaps Ramalina calicaris.

Re: Identification of a lichen

Thanks Alan for this hint. I contacted Luca who told me that it was a Ramalina , but not having any other information like me, he was unable to give me a species name. I think by consulting flora that it could be a species belonging to the Ramalina complanata group but without any certainty... Kind ...

Re: Myriolecis actophila?

Myriolecis actophila is not possible because the latter species has a thallus (see the photograph by maxieput90, but this photograph perhaps represents Myriolecis massei ?). In my humble opinion I think that we are in the group of Myriolecis dispersa which is a fairly common species in this environ...
