Chris Yeates

I don’t quite know where to post this, but sad news of our great friend Chris Yeates, a huge supporter of this website. A man with incredible curiosity and knowledge beyond my imagination. RIP.

Re: Can anyone identify this?

The English name of Tricholoma sciodes is Beech Knight and I think I see beech leaves in the photo.

Re: Polypore

Looking quite shaggy, so I would offer Inonotus hispidus.

Re: Clathrus archeri Devil's Fingers

Definitely looks like C. archeri. What a great find and so interesting to know it is spreading.
Might be too immature, but will smell disgusting eventually.

Thanks Mal

The macro features match that of Kibby’s description of Stropharia coronilla, though I over estimated the size a bit in my description.

A superb fungus, but need help with ID please

Approx 100mm dia x 125mm high. No smell I could detect. Not sticky anywhere. Interested by the unusual pattern on the stipe left by the ring. Any clues please.
