Re: ID Help appreciated

Thanks Chris.
The soft spine/fins on the caps really confused me too.

ID Help appreciated

Found today in forest. Brittany France. Growing out of/around an old, cut stump of possibly Beech or Pine - which are the main trees there - although there is also some Yew and Larch. Dense clusters of different sized, gilled fungi. Pinkish-beige. Faint, sweetish mushroom smell. Caps with soft ‘spin...

ID help appreciated

Hello. A woodland walk yesterday produced an unexpected batch of fungi. I have only pictures of each fungus in situ as they were all single specimens apart from one and I felt unwilling to disturb them, so I appreciate that I can’t provide much detailed information other than North West Brittany, mi...

Re: Is this a slime mould - help please?

Thank you for your comprehensive reply.
Given the little bit I know of Fungi, the less I know of Lichens and the absolutely nothing I know of slime moulds... there’s a lifetime to be spent finding out more!

Re: ID help appreciated

I’m fascinated! I’m used to seeing Turkey Tail all green and black and multi-coloured!
These were all creamy looking.
It’s a place I visit fairly often.
Next time I’ll take a photo from above!
Thanks.

Well a rather totemic trunk of fungi. I’ve no idea what, and didn’t want to break bits off of it unnecessarily as it looks so great. Also, not sure how fresh it is? On a rooted trunk which might be pine or hazel - both in the vicinity. Any help welcomed! Sorry they appear the wrong way round - I tri...

Re: Another (beautiful) but unknown... ID help please

Thank you!
That photo was as close as I got. I looked closer with my loupe and marvelled, but I wasn’t that sure what to be looking for😉. But your ID pointer is a real help.

Another (beautiful) but unknown... ID help please

This was taken yesterday. Inland. Rocky valley. Very damp nearly always.
On granite. I was struck by the colour combination of pale sky blue and cream. It looked distinctive but I’m unable to get anywhere with the reference material I have.
Any help much appreciated.

Re: Ramalina?

Hello again.
A couple of photos of the Menhir lichens. Not sure that there is enough detail for you to work with but thought you might like to see nonetheless :D
