Hi, and welcome to UK Fungi.
Thimble Morels (Verpa conica) are not particularly rare, but they can be locally common / uncommon.
However, if you are 100% certain of the identification, it’s always worth while submitting the record.
If you have a County Recorder for fungi in your area, then send the record to him/her.
(You should be able to find out by making contact with your nearest Fungus group. (see http://www.fungi.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=281).
If you don’t have a County Recorder, you might want to submit your records directly to Paul Kirk at the FRDBI (see http://www.fieldmycology.net/frdbi/frdbi.asp” class=”bbcode_url”>http://www.fieldmycology.net/frdbi/frdbi.asp).
It would be worth reading this document too, as it details all of the information that should be considered when recording fungi: –

Regards,
Mike.
