This is a long shot but worth a try. I have a large quantity of a hyphomycete growing on feathers. Unfortunately, there is no fertile material. It is forming a dense white to cream mat which, under the microscope is a mass of extremely curved allantoid conidia. Ellis and Ellis fails to yield any sensible suggestions. Is anybody aware of anybody that is studying these fungi that may be prepared to look at my material? I would upload photographs but I am keeping it in the same conditions (which it clearly seems to appreciate) in the hope that something fertile might develop. Imagine feathers covered in magnolia emulsion after it has solidified and you would be in the right area.
As I say, a long shot but would appreciate anybody’s thoughts.
