An interesting bit of “by-catch” ( I was looking for Eopyrenula) from an old hazel by Ullswater: another silvery smirr but the perithecia looked a bit odd under the hand lens and turn out to be stroma under the dissecting scope.
The spores are colourless ( none were dark), and almost all 1 septate ( I found one that was 3 septate).
Size 22.4 -25.6 x 6.4-8um.
It keyed out remarkably easily to Mycoporum lacteum, which I’ve not come across before.
Does this seem right?
