    Hi,

I forgot a petri dish in my fridge for months, it contained Lion’s mane mycelium, but yesterday I saw something strange growing from the agar.

I am just curious to know if anyone can identify it. It looks like worms. Maybe some sort of parasite? But the strange fact is that the mycelium seems growing on it, like a way of fighting against it.

    Any opinions?

      Hi,

The link you posted has been deleted.

The UK Fungi website rules don’t allow links to externally hosted images, for the reasons stated in the “”HOW TO” Guide to Uploading & Posting Images (Information)” topic https://www.fungi.org.uk/viewtopic.php?t=1 and copied here below: –

NB: All forum images MUST be uploaded directly to this site.

UK Fungi does not accept links to images hosted on other sites. (Flickr, etc. etc.)

This is to ensure that the images remain associated with the relevant posts, (Images hosted elsewhere can sometimes be inadvertently deleted, thus potentially rendering the particular topic on UK Fungi useless), and also, so that images cannot subsequently be exchanged for alternative/inappropriate images.

Please upload any relevant images directly to the UK Fungi website as per instructions provided on that topic.

      Regards,

      Mike.

        Hi,

Thanks for taking the forum rules onboard, and amending your initial post with photos directly uploaded to the UK Fungi website.

As you will note, the UK Fungi website is primarily concerned with field mycology – (fungi conservation/identification of naturally occurring species) rather than fungi cultivation.

I don’t have much knowledge of that subject so can’t personally offer any positive suggestions as to what your pics show.

Hopefully, someone more knowledgeable on fungi cultivation might spot your enquiry and respond accordingly.

        Regards,

        Mike.
