      From SW Ireland, a dark brownish gall on the underside of a shaded Xanthoria parietina lobe.

      Its not Tremella occultixanthoriae (recently found by Brian Coppins) as it appears to be an ascomycete pycnidia with 0-1 septate pale green conidia 10-13 x 3 µm. I’m totally at a loss!

        I posted the images on the Facebook ‘Lichenicolous fungi 2.0’ page and have just had a reply there from Valerii Darmostuk:

          Photos and micrographs confirmed as Lichenodiplis poeltii by Brian Coppins.

          I’ll send him the specimen to put in the Edinburgh Herbarium (E)
