      Hi, new to the site.

      Found in birch wood about a week ago. Smooth brown cap, sponge like white pores, white stem with brown specks. What do you think?

        The default is Leccinum scabrum – but you need to cut one in half and observe the colour changes in the context to identify most species in this genus.
