Growing on soil near Oak, Hazel and Beech.

      Anyone hazard a genus?

Well done. New genus. The combination of sinuate lamellae, a ring, and distinctly warted brownish spores does not add up to much. Cortinarius caperatus might be a possibility, though it hardly looks typical. Hebeloma radicosum is another, though again it hardly looks typical… Any cystidia?

I thought I could see a few scattered small flask like cystidia but not conclusive. I will take another look.

No cystidia to be seen. Clamps present. Keyed it to Cortinarius with Funga Nordica.

Cortinarius torvus / Stocking Webcap appears a good match.
