Any key is better than none but I have no experience of that particular one. I use Funga Nordica, now sadly out of print. It is an excellent work. I see it can be downloaded as a pdf.

A difficult genus, that needs to be keyed out. Needs iodine reaction, presence or not of pleurocystidia and caulocystidia, whether basidia are 2 or 4 spored etc.

It’s likely they are Kind Alfred’s cakes that have fallen off a branch. Easy to check, try moving one. If it’s growing out of the ground or buried wood, there would be some resistance. Or, you could clear around it to look for a buried branch. Any dead / dying ash trees nearby? Did you look up?

Looks like an Echinoderma judging by the conical scales (spines)

Can’t see the ring properly on a good condition specimen, so can’t go further than that.

E.asperum has a large ring

E. perplexum has an ephemeral ring.

Check against Melanoleuca exscissa or M. polioleuca

Really need to see the whole fruitbody. The gills, ring and stem are more useful for an ID.
