Mystery asco on Anthriscus sylvestris leaves

Post by angus »

Hi all,

I discovered this asco forming tiny black pcynidia on live Anthriscus sylvestris leaves. The leaves were unaltered by the fungus (not even discoloured) and pycnidia were concentrated on the leaf edges, although were present all over. I have absolutely no idea where to start when identifying this, but it doesn't seem to match anything recorded on Cow Parsley in the FRDBI records. Any help much appreciated!
