Lichen ID, help please.

Glen Convinth, Highland Scotland

Open grass close to mature Oak trees

20th October 2018

Several small areas like this, underside of broken fragment found close by also shown

Any ID or pointers in the right direction very genuinely appreciated,

Hi, and welcome to UK Fungi.

Your lichen is one of the Peltigera species (Dog Lichens).

Unfortunately, I can't be more specific than that. - There are numerous Peltigera species, and I don't know enough about them. :oops:

Perhaps someone else might be able to be more specific.

Thank you for at least a start, there is no shortage of some other Peltigera species in the area but this is the first year I have seen anything like this one.
