Slime mould on woodchip ID please

Post by jimmymac2 » Mon Jul 31, 2017 11:59 am

Hello everyone

This morning I found this slime mould on a rotting woodchip on the Sussex/Surrey border. Each fruiting body measures about 3mm high. Any IDs much appreciated!

Too early to say for sure I think but it has got the look of an Arcyria or some kind..

If you transport a sample very carefully (minimising vibrations) and keep it on some wet tissue in an open box in the garage/shed it may mature fully over around 24-48 hours..

Cheers,

John

Thanks John, I'll try and let them mature and I'll let you know how they get on.
